Natural Gas is colorless, odorless and non-toxic. As a safety precaution, an artificial odor has been added to help detect even the smallest escape of natural gas.

If you smell a strong persistent gas odor, don't panic, please follow these safety procedures;

Indoors

1. Open all doors and windows if you can do so quickly and easily. Because natural gas is lighter than air, it rises and will dissipate rapidly where it can escape into the open air.
2. Avoid the use of any electricity, lights or other appliances that may cause a spark.
3. Dial the PGN Contact Center immediately:

Outdoors

1. Dial the PGN Contact Center immediately.
2. Keep away from the area.
3. Avoid the use of any electricity, lights or other appliances that may cause a spark.
4. Notify the police and fire departments as well.
